Okay, so this update is going to be woefully incomplete, because I have about a million things to update on and some of them include pictures which will have to come in subsequent posts, since I'm sitting in Starbucks and haven't uploaded the pictures to Photobucket yet.
Last week was pretty busy - Elizabeth was here from Friday-Wednesday (which was supposed to be Tuesday, but that's what happens when they cancel your flight out of Gainesville). We went tubing on the Ichetucknee (wow, I spelled that right on the first go!), which is maybe not my normal fare but it was so awesome. Basically it's this river with a fairly constant, lazily-paced current, and you rent giant inner tubes and, you guessed it, float down it! It's about an hour to an hour and a half ride, and at the end you get on a tram and head back to the front of the park, where you can go again if you like. So Nathan, Curtis, Elizabeth, Althea, and I all went for two trips down the river, with a picnic lunch in between and Olive Garden for dinner after. I will definitely have to go again before the summer was up!
Sunday was... I have no idea what Sunday was... I think Elizabeth and I actually sat around Starbucks most of the day, before she went off to dinner and I went to watch Jurassic Park with the Usual Crowd, as Duy had not yet seen it (I KNOW RIGHT?) and that clearly needed to be fixed - especially since he's got a projector set up at his place and we watched everything huge on his wall instead of on a boring TV. Oh, Jurassic Park. AND BABY JOE MAZZELLO! Well, okay, he was probably ten or something. But SO CUTE, regardless. Poor kid has to end up in mud no matter what production he's in. XD
Monday was Universal and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (EPIC - and it will get its own post!) with Nathan, Elizabeth, Dimitri, Alaina, Diana, and Kevin. It was hot, and the lines were long, but we expected this, so. We had lunch at The Three Broomsticks (eee!) and dinner at Bubba Gump, before passing out after a long day when we got home. Tuesday Elizabeth was supposed to go back, but as I mentioned before her flight was canceled, so we kind of hung out and ignored each other in my living room on the internet for most of the day. XD
Wednesday Elizabeth did actually successfully catch her flight, and I think that and Thursday were relatively uneventful. We did True Blood last night, and then we went to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice this afternoon. Good movie - lots of fun, even if the plot isn't terribly original. But the effects are awesome, it's funny, and plus? The main character is a physics nerd. Like, a molecular physics major. How often does that happen?
Also, Monica Bellucci is in it. XD It was driving me crazy - she's Sylvia in The Brotherhood of the Wolf, whom I have only seen in LJ icons at Amat, but she showed up and I just knew it was her! And was vindicated when I IMDB'd her after the movie.
We all piled over to Blue Highway for a delicious pizza dinner afterward, and then I went to Old Navy with just the intention of getting a pair of shorts, but of course I walked out with those, two tops ($5 apiece!) and a hoodie that was on clearance for $10 because I am weak against hoodies. I also picked up a carpet for my office from Target, because the spots from which we moved all the furniture (which hadn't been moved in at least five or six years, probably more) are disgusting and there's one right behind my desk. So I got a rug and now it looks much better~
AND now I am in Starbucks, and I think I will do some ACTUAL WRITING (or, at least, writing of fanfic, which is not RP) for a bit before I head home and clean or something. Whew!
In future posts:
