Antiprotons!
Nov. 22nd, 2005 12:13 amUh... kindamostlyGIP, since Diana wanted to see the icon. ^^; (And my cat.)
Been busy most of the day - worked on Cosmology (everything but #4 done now!) most of the day until class. We learned about whatever the heck that guy was talking about on Friday! i.e. detecting dark matter, mostly through experiments here on Earth. Which are pretty damn cool. Like, particle accelerators and all that. And how you can't have electrons in circular accelerators because they radiate all their energy away. Important question for the day: "Okay, so where the heck do they get antiprotons to smash into things?" I must go look this up! I mean, sure, you can use Hydrogen gas for a steady supply of protons. But antiprotons? Those aren't just floating around! (I hope!) And then when he talked about these guys who want to have a muon collider, all I could think about was RahXephon. <<; (Well, other than the fact that dude, have fun getting muons up to high enough speeds that time dilation kicks in and you can smash them before they decay.)
... Have I lost all of you yet?
Uhm... for the rest of the day, had to help a student with lab after class, didn't get home until at least 6:30. Had dinner/watched Firefly, wrote up the Cosmology solutions and did laundry, talked to Diana about lots of cool stuffs. ^_^
In other news... Goblet of Fire was good, and I liked it very much. <3
Also! As a random note: LJ is being weird and... not emailing me about half the comments I get. D: So if I'm randomly slow in replying to comments, that's why. ::beats LJ:: I have no idea why. ><;;
You know, I swear I used to have stuff to post about. In the meantime: Field Guide to the Entire Universe. Because you can never go wrong with something like that~

Date: 2005-11-22 05:42 am (UTC)But eee! Siamese! I have 2, but they're mutts. So pretty. ♥
LJ has been acting up. It's weird, because I'll receive emails for this journal most of the time, but never for Dan or Jirou.

Date: 2005-11-22 05:48 am (UTC)Yes! I've had Siamese all my life (my mom breeds them now) and they're great!
Yeah! D: I don't know what it is. ::pokes LJ:: Same with my RP journals... somehow it knows exactly which ones to hit. >>;

Date: 2005-11-22 06:58 am (UTC)Try the My LJ feature. It lets you view the last ten comments made on your journal (unless it's a paid account, in which case I believe you get 50), so you can see which ones had been mailed to you and which ones haven't. I'm glad I was told about it because I would have otherwise missed an important comment!
