So now that all three people on my flist who are in [livejournal.com profile] double_fault know the scoop on Aya, I finally got around to finishing her General Character Profile in case anyone was really interested...

(I particularly like the "worst deed" and "greatest success" parts ~_^)

Name: Terada Aya
Alias: Terada Ayato >>
School/year: St Rudolph, 3rd year

Age: 14
Birthday: 11/15 (Scorpio)
Blood Type: A

Nationality: Japanese (Osaka)
(She’s a Japanese citizen but is really only half Japanese)
Height/Weight: 150cm, 45kg
Dominant Hand: Right
Posture: Slouches a bit from constant reading, but tries to stand up straight to appear taller whenever possible. Is a bit shy and tends to draw into herself, but she’s getting better about that.
Physical Build: Definitely more muscular than a normal girl (got her strange looks and whispers from her classmates in Osaka). She’s small: thin and short but stronger than she looks. Aside from her face, she’s pretty much still got an androgynous build, but that may change in a year or two.
Clothing: Generally t-shirts and shorts when not in school uniform. Likes picture t-shirts and boys’ cargo shorts, specifically; wears sneakers all the time. Wears her tennis wristband or some other sort of band on her right wrist most of the time, has a sports watch that’s much too big for her with a band so old it’s held together with duct tape.
Outstanding characteristics: Height (or rather, lack thereof) – always getting mistaken for a first year. Good stamina (unless she has to play a doubles game virtually on her own, thanks Kouji).

FAMILY (immediate):
- Mother: (American) Aya’s mother is extremely loud and opinionated; she’s definitely the domineering force in the household. She works for the American Consulate General in Osaka. She was recently asked to move back to the US for work. Oddly enough, despite her outgoing personality she likes feminine things and wishes Aya did too – they’re constantly at odds about what she wears, how she acts, her hair, etc. She was very disappointed when Aya first became interested in tennis, but has since given in to the fact that her daughter wants to play a sport. She’s proud of Aya’s accomplishments, but really wishes she’d drop tennis for something a little more reserved like music.
- Father: (Japanese) Aya’s father is a quiet man who generally lets his wife run things. He gets along very well with his daughters. He works for a bank (e.g. Citibank) and is easily able to transfer job locations to match his wife’s. He’s proud of Aya’s tennis, and helps her with endurance training as he ran cross country in high school.
- Sister: (Rei) 10 years old, gets along okay with Aya but they’re not extremely close; they don’t fight often but don’t talk too often either, though with their parents gone Rei calls Aya a bit more often than she would otherwise because she’s lonely.

Aya’s parents are currently both in the US; they gave their daughters the option to either come with or stay in Japan. Both chose to stay in Japan – Rei is living with their uncle (father’s brother) and two cousins: Megumi (12) and Hikari (14) in Tokyo. Aya was allowed to attend St. Rudolph in lieu of Seigaku because it’s a boarding school and still relatively close to her uncle. Hikari is probably the closest thing to a best friend Aya has, and she was originally the only one in on Aya’s secret.

Academics: Aya’s a pretty bright kid – she does her homework during free periods and lunch so she has time to train or read in the evenings. She likes literature and math the best, but is a pretty well-rounded student overall. Her parents have high hopes for her during high school and college.

Significant Other: Aya’s been forbidden to date until she’s 16, and she hasn’t really thought about dating – she’s pretty naïve about the whole subject and doesn’t know “what to do.”
Get along w/ opp sex? Most of her few friends were guys in Osaka, and the same certainly holds true at St. Rudolph for obvious reasons. She’s generally accepted as “one of the guys” and finds boys more straightforward and less emotional than girls, and thus easier to talk to some of the time.
Same sex? Most of Aya’s female friends were from the tennis team. At St. Rudolph she doesn’t have any female friends. While she fits in just fine with girls, she tends to get bored or embarrassed when they start talking about dating.
Kids? Aya’s okay with kids, but only those that are close to her in age. She doesn’t really find very young children (infant to about six or seven years old) worth spending time with, though she can be nice to them if she encounters them.
Adults? Aya is generally very polite and by-the-book (well, except for the cross-dressing and lying about her identity thing… ). She gets along fine with adults – she respects their authority and they’re generally pleased with her maturity and manners.
Popularity: Too much of a bookworm to be really popular, though she may have gained a bit of recognition by being a St. Rudolph regular. She doesn’t care how many friends she has or who they are, and generally keeps to herself and spends a lot of time alone.
Reputation: Bookworm, loner, and generally not someone people actively seek out unless they need help with homework. She’s known to be a hard worker. She’s also always getting mistaken for a first-year by students and teachers alike.
Opinion of self: Rather low self-esteem, always striving to be better (especially in tennis, and more so than ever in tennis at SeiRu). She’d like to think she’s thorough and thinks of everything, and she’s a decent liar (heh) but not necessarily when she’s put on the spot.
Sense of humor: A bit reserved; she doesn’t often find making fun of other people funny. She does have a sense of humor, but since she tends to keep it to herself, most people think she doesn’t have much of one.

Worst deed: Cross-dressing, sneaking into St. Rudolph and onto the tennis team as a boy.
Greatest success: Getting onto the regulars at St. Rudolph as a boy.
Ambitions: Short-term: To stay on the regulars and rise to what she perceives as the challenge of staying on the team. She wants to be an even match for any boy on the team, and wants to find a way of playing well with her doubles partner (Kouji). She’s also working very hard on not getting caught.
Long-term: To become one of the best players in the female league (high school, when she’s planning on being a girl again). She hopes that by spending time on the boys’ team now, which she thinks is much better and more dedicated than the girls’ team, she’ll become an outstanding player among the other girls. She’d also like to get into a good high school and go to college, but has also been entertaining the idea of going pro in tennis.
Positive trait: Long attention span, able to pay attention to something at a high level for a long period of time. She’s also very dedicated to her training and schoolwork.
Negative trait: Tends to dismiss her opinions and herself as irrelevant or when in some cases she should really voice them. Naïve. Overworks herself. Gets into fights easily and claims she can take care of herself when she really can’t.

Skills/knowledge – Tennis:
Play Style: Counter-puncher
Special moves: Ricochet Smash, Twist Serve

Hobbies/interests: Reading. She’s ALWAYS reading. Also: tennis (obviously), running, cosplay, anime, some gaming (mostly rpgs or fighters).
Religious beliefs: Raised catholic, but not very strictly religious (i.e. reads during mass sometimes)
Disposition: Doesn’t like getting mad because she generally makes a fool out of herself – is so small that she can’t really back up threats and usually knows it. Generally seen as a pushover, but she has her limits and when she reaches them, she can be very aggressive. Likes: Books, tennis, and food.
Dislikes: Confrontations, people looking at her, her mother.
Music, Books, TV: Likes Jpop and techno, some American alternative music. Will read just about anything, though she really loves fantasy, scifi, and literature. Watches most shounen anime (Gundam, DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, etc.).
Best friend: Shirou Hikari, her cousin.
Collections: Gundam models & figures, some anime DVDs
Artistic talents: None to speak of

Um. For the rest of the world... Shuttle launch tomorrow! And I can't go. ><;; I have to help out with a Starlab presentation for kids in the morning, then help Francisco proctor a test right after that, then teach right after *that*. @.@ But! I swear if it's not raining I'm going to take my students up on the roof at 3:50 and try to see *something.* GOOD LUCK to the Discovery. I actually ended up staying home today and sleeping because I was really tired and kinda had a headache when I woke up - plus there really wasn't much for me to do today because I finished updating the HDFN files for Vicki and got the grading for my class done. So since the rest of the gradstu population gets tomorrow off, I took today. ^^;

Still have a bunch of things to do. Maybe tomorrow I'll get fabric and go see Howl. Because I really don't know how long it's going to be in Gville.

Thanks! I'll try. I really have to stop staying up so late, I think that's mostly it. Plus I should go running - that actually *gives* me more energy sometimes!

Aw, that's right, didn't you decide nothing was gonna happen with shy boy?

We should do that thing where we both go running at the same time, even if we're reaaaaallly far away from each other. ;)
