Words I have learned today:

- Ultramafic: upper mantle rock consisting of mostly Fe and Mg, low silica content

- Massif: feature made of rocks more rigid than the surrounding crustal material

- Lithosphere: outer portion of the crust coupled to the rigid upper mantle

- Viscoelastic: material whose response to a deforming load combines both viscous and elastic qualities (i.e. plastic)
