Most of this is a double-post. I feel a little weird only posting my End-Of-Last-Exile rant in a community, so here it is again.

SPOILERS AHEAD. I'll even cut too.

Well. It was good. It was a good ending, if not a little rushed, but I will note that a lot of anime series have rushed-feeling endings. Things happened throughout the series, but there were definitely big WHOOSHes of stuff, like in 18-22, and 23-the end (though this could be because those are the chunks in which I saw it at club ^^;;). I do remember feeling, at the end of watching 18-22, that *nothing* had happened in the series up until then. Which most certainly wasn't true.

So, starting from 22, going into 23-26 I had a horrible feeling about Lucicola. I thought he was going to die/be killed in front of Dio, thus snapping Dio out of the brainwashed nonsense and saving the day. Not quite. ^^;; Lucci sure got badass, but... Ugh. I hate Delphine. I already hated Delphine. I just hated her more. He *could* have killed her, but he didn't because it's not in his nature. So she simply removed him from the picture. I... I actually think it was a good way to go. I liked it better, actually, than the bloody screaming end I was envisioning.

Of course, the people I was worried about dying were Lucci, Moran, and Alex. And just before that, Moran had "died" (when he dropped his medals I knew it was over) and so I was like, "FINE! They go and kill the two people I was really worried about in the same episode! Agh!" David says that they killed Moran, and then changed their minds suddenly at the end. I think I kind of have to agree. ^^;; He was dead. And he went out in a way that made us damned proud. Even if he didn't die... ^^;;

So that leaves Alex. Who gets the points for killing that bitch Delphine. There was applause. The ENTIRETY of the MIT Anime Club (no small number of people, probably 100-120 were in attendance tonight) broke out into applause when she died. But from about then on, I'd pretty much given up on Alex, right up until Sophia killed him. Whoa. He went well too. Even if the chick did lie to Sophia....

And then there's Dio. See, Dio dying was NOT an option. Really, it wasn't. At least he got better before he died. I can't say... I can't say he went *well*, exactly, but it wasn't... It was fitting, and yet it wasn't. I have mixed feelings, once I get over the shock that he actually died.

The way he kept shouting at Lucciola was sad. When he first showed up I thought he'd magically gone un-insane, we weren't sure, but then he started shooting at Claus... And then he remembered. And in a so very Dio move, he completely disregarded PILOTING when he realized that Lucci wasn't behind him. It was such a very *Dio* mistake that he made... But to see him get blown away, that blew me away too.

I had been INSANELY worried that Dio was going to die in the last chunk of episodes we saw (18-22). I think I was so relieved when he *didn't* die (though I agree with Hikari, he was as good as dead), that suddenly he just *had* to get better. I really, honestly, didn't consider Dio dying an option. At all. It took me completely by suprise, which I think was what drove it home so hard. He didn't have to meet ALL of Hikari's criteria for being one of her bishounen! ><;;

I also realize now that Claus and Lavie and Aru somehow were too distracted (well, they were fighting the Grand Stream) to really REALIZE Dio's death. And no one spoke another word about him, or Lucci, which I found a little disappointing. Dio and Lucci should have gotten graves. I know people will remember them, but to just have them disappear like that... No.

And then... Exile. I... think I need to watch it a few more times, I don't think I was paying enough attention. I realize some of what happened, but other things I completely don't get. I think I'll watch the last bit a few more times, see if I can't figure out what was going on. But Aru had hair! o.O;; Whoo.

In MY perfect world, Dio would have landed squarely in Claus' lap when he tumbled out of his vanship, and that would've been that.

In other news. I live in Deusis, it's snowing like crazy. And... my room is STEAMING. And I don't think it's just Dio and Claus' fault. I think, to make up for the lack of heat, they've decided to turn it up full blast without remorse. I think I need to UN-duct tape my window for some AIR. o.O

Work tomorrow, right, I've got to get up at a decent hour. Must work if I'm to buy the jumpsuit for Claus.

Oh! We also watched the first 2 eps of FF:Unlimited tonight, after Last Exile. Knowing about FF in general made the show a whole lot more enjoyable, though their lack of budget and real character design is still somewhat grating. BUT. There was the evil kid, right, and he had the GUILD EYE MAKEUP. Really. O.O He had the right shaped eyes, and the pink eye makeup at the edges, and I almost fell out of my seat. Craziness.

A'ight. Time to go, I think, as I really don't have much else to say. I'm somewhere between fried and non-fried, and I'm not sure what to think at the moment. ^^;
