Uh... Stuff.
Oct. 19th, 2003 01:27 pmYeah... so...
Head of the Charles weekend. That's wonderful, only I'm not going to get to watch any races. I have too much work. Yesterday was the cosplay workshop, which was good because I got about a fourth of my Seigaku jacket done. Every single time I look at a picture for references, I realize that I've missed *something*. The stupid thing keeps getting more and more complicated! I think I can still get it done by the 31st though.
Adam has decided he wants to cosplay Claus, so all the chicks will like him. That's not fair, *I* wanted to cosplay Claus first!! And THEN they all had to decide to dress me up as Aru, and I want to be Claus, not Aru. I'm still cosplaying Claus, because not only does Jen have that jumpsuit that she's supposed to send me *eventually* (along with my PoT doujinshi, and here's your obligatory ::poke:: to send them!! ::pokepokepokepoke::), but because I have a LOT of ideas on how to make the spaceman suit-thing as well. We went to Garment District yesterday for stuff, and they had these... boot-cover things that come up to like your knees, and I think with a little modification they'll work perfectly. So there. I'm going to be Claus!! XP
But it was a pretty fun workshop; we ooh-ed and ahh-ed again at the girl in the cosplay book who made her own hair into Yugi's. I really need to figure out how to do that. Oh, and yeah, I know how Sasuke makes his hair stick up like that. He sleeps on it. Kakashi-sensei is still a mystery, though...
Uh. HoTC banquet last night; of course, I couldn't find any of my rowers, so I sat with two alumni from the class of like '47 or something, and Candace Royer stopped by for a while too so at least she did most of the talking. One of them had some OLD pix of the OLD boathouse, so that was kind of cool. At least your coaches suddenly turn nice to you when they're no longer ruining your life once a day six times a week....
Yeah, so now I have to go to April's after work today, and try to get some 12.515 done. Our extension (from the wedding weekend) makes us have two weeks' worth of psets due on the same day. And apparently we have a TEST on Thursday... When were they going to tell US this?! And what the hell can it possibly be on? I'm still going to try to make it to D&D tonight. I managed to push it back to 9pm, so I hope April and I can get some decent work done before then. I don't want to have to cancel on all of them.
The one good thing that's happened this week is that Ummul was QUIET this morning. OhmiGod, it was nice. She only woke me up once, and even then I could tell she was trying to be quiet. And she didn't make a loud phone call at 9:15 like she did yesterday, which woke me up and made me unable to sleep again and made me *very* very *very* unhappy. So I got to SLEEP this morning and consequently do feel a little better.
A few nights ago, I had a dream that I finished KH, and then got to see KHII. Sora's new design: my HP Quidditch jersey (the long-sleeved one), and red pants with Lillin's problem (i.e. only one long leg) that turned into jeans halfway down. Riku was also in my dream, and I'm not sure if it was Riku himself or just a cosplayer.
Last night I had this dream that I was in a hotel with the X-men. It was the Evo X-men, which was cool, and Adam and Ray and a bunch of other random people I know were there too. I was hanging out with Adam and Kitty - we were trying to find my room, because supposedly I had a husband who was coming later. O.o And there was magic and stuff going on, too, like whole rooms (like Lackey workrooms) where you could practice magic. And there was this guy who was stalking me and trying to kill me. That wasn't very fun; he apparently was mad that he'd broken up with his girlfriend so instead he was trying to kill me, and Adam and Kitty left so I was all on my own running away from the crazy guy.
Then it switched, and I had this weird dream that I had to help a busload of six year-olds cross the street. And David Bowie showed up twice - like, there were two David Bowies just standing there talking to each other. One looked like regular Folken, only dressed in white with blonde hair, and othe other looked like Folken from the Esca movie. Fancy that.
And although I'm not feeling particularly cheerful, here's the funny quote of the week:
"I'm six inches tall and wearin' a dress. Now I know I'm dreaming."
--Joey (because this week was so bad I even watched Yu-Gi-Oh!)
