ad_exiaSo... things are very up and down. I mean, this week has sucked so far, and will continue to do so, but at least some good things are happening in the meantime. ^^;;
Where to start... Well, I'm tired... I *finally* got almost 8 hours of sleep last night, since I get to sleep in today, but that was only after observing and getting home at 3am. Mind you, it was FREEZING (wait, BELOW FREEZING, NEGATIVE even), and I had been up practically all night the day before working on lightcurves (which I kind of did wrong, but ended up with the data to do the right thing). Japanese is hard, what a surprise, but we're learning like four new number systems and I just don't have the time or brainpower to memorize them, but I have to for class or I won't know what's going on. Maybe I should take *that* pass/fail, but then I was already thinking of switching Roman History to grades and 8.224 to p/f... Can I just take everything pass/fail? Agh!
BUT. I won the grand prize in the Infinite Process Writing Contenst! Waaaaaai! I get lots of stuff for it too, like a free copy of the anthology (that I get *published* in and can possibly have Jen do the cover art for!), royalties from any sales of the anthology, $250 and a $50 gift certificate for any bookstore of my choosing. O_O $50 in a bookstore... beyond exciting! ^^ That little "Akujunkan" story is a happy thing! Too bad I can't enter it in the MIT prizes again this year; I think I'll use Beta instead. That needs some revision... Man, I haven't touched a word processor in so long... ::wistful::
So that counterbalanced my "I'm worth nothing because stupid grad schools won't accept me" phase for at least a little while. In other good news, I *finally* got X:Two in the mail yesterday (pretty Kamui cover!). Now I'm just waiting for my Shaman King poster! Oy, and it's Nigel's birthday on Saturday so I need to get him something. Not sure what... And I have to check on whether or not Dad and Jennie are coming to Anime Boston, beacuse we have to tell them how many people are in the cosplay group, and we need ideas, and I have to do stuff for Anime Club by tomorrow and Friday and... O_O Ack. I miss that "free time" thing I think I had once upon a time!
Oh, and Jen, I gotta re-grab Tutu from you sometime... No rush, but I do want to see it! Fakia! ^^
Ooh, if I wait for a bit I can use the gift certificate on Scryed Manga! Wai! And maybe more Onegai Teacher will be out by then too! The only other thing I was kinda thinking was putting it towards that gorgeous leather-bound version of the LOTR books...
