The excitement is tangible...
Feb. 18th, 2003 09:32 amLast night at about 11:30pm, there was much running through the halls and many shouts of joy: SNOW DAY!!! As Nigel remarked, the excitement was tangible. There was happiness in the air. MIT students were happy - in the middle of the semester! ^^
27.5 inches of snow. And it's supposed to snow again later.
So, of course, we watched The Empire Strikes Back before I went to bed since I had to get up and come in to work this morning, but the actual *staff* (Eileen and Oliver) aren't here so I can watch anime! Yeah for Shaman King. Actually, I'm going to intersperse anime and work, since I have some reading and some Japanese it won't kill me to catch up on. ^^ And I'm here for four hours, so it's no big deal. Stacie might stop in later to print out some stuff, so that'd be cool.
Other than the MASSIVE amounts of snow, yesterday wasn't too eventful. Got up, had lunch and went to LaVerde's with Stacie (sloshing through snow all the way, but it hadn't gotten *too* too bad yet) for fajita ingredients, since Michelle had still been planning to come over for dinner. We finally figured Saferide and/or the buses might not be running, so Michelle stayed home and Stacie and I went down to exercise, and then I did some work until dinner - which was *so* good! Yum! And then we all gathered in the floor lounge to watch the finale of Joe Millionare, which I'd never seen, was slightly amused by, but was again reminded of why I watch Japanese cartoons instead of *real* TV. ^^;; Or, at least, "Reality TV." ::shrug:: At least he chose the nice one... But dude. I want a million dollars! ::whine::
Yepu. So that's about it. There is a lot of snow. And it is fun. ^^ Too powdery for a snowball fight as of yet, but we shall see. We shall see...
