Feb. 23rd, 2004 06:57 pmSo I slept through my Policy and Climate Change class today. -_- April called and said she got me the notes and the pset (because she is cool) and that she got into law school, so go April. It's my turn to buy you lunch now.
I rarely (if EVER) have dreams involving anime people, though now that I think about it, the few times it's happened it's almost always been the Kenshin-gumi.
Dream -
First, Janey wanted to watch some of my anime, so I was trying to find something good that she'd like. I remember thinking she should watch the Kenshin OVAs, so I found my copies of the DVDs. They had a black cover with pictures from the OVA, and the text was written in white Jap. writing (I think it was real, because I knew what it was supposed to say).
Then suddenly I was in a little market, shopping with (OVA) Kenshin and Kaoru. Kenshin had some kind of green veil-thing over his head, but was otherwise dressed relatively normally, in the blue top and white hakama. It started raining - I remember helping hurry K&K under an overhang, and glancing at the walls, which were shelves, and seeing manga (I think it was Gravi? The original Sony Jap. release).
Then Kenshin started laughing hysterically o.O and Kaoru and I were kind of worried, but she calmed him down and it stopped raining. Then we went off to get the rest of the groceries, because Kaoru needed flour and sugar because I think she was making cookies. At that point, she was wearing a white puffy winter coat. And as she picked up the flour and sugar, I mentioned that it was a really good thing that Kaoru's cooking had improved. She wanted to know what that was supposed to mean, but I just said that it was because my cooking still sucked and otherwise we'd starve. Kenshin thought this was kind of funny. ^^
We went to go check out, and Kenshin was carrying two twelve-packs (the refridgerator packs) of pop, and I had one. I offered to take one of his, and he asked if it was okay, and I said it was fine (they really weren't that heavy). There was an old woman with glasses at the checkout counter, who seemed kind of surprised at Kenshin's garb, but I don't remember what she said. I remember thinking how I wished he wasn't going to have to eventually go away to war, because he was going to get sick and die, and I patted him on the head. He called me "sister", which was strange, but I think he meant it kind of like Sano says "jo-chan"...
I must've paid with a credit card, but Kenshin reached over to sign the bill, though he signed my name. He signed with his left hand and I mentioned how awesome he was because he was ambidexterous. (Figures, he *would* be!) At that point, Sano and Yahiko had joined us and we started walking home. Sano wanted to know why Kenshin was so cool, and I said it was because he was ambidexterous. Sano wanted to know why, I said it was because he could use both hands. I think he asked why again (he was just being cutely annoying) and I said that if he didn't stop I was going to punch him when we got home. He wanted to know where, and I said I'd start with his face. He wanted to know which cheek and I said the left.
About that point, we were trekking up a dirt path on a grassy hill, and it was evening. There was a car coming, so we all scattered off the path, Kenshin to the right and Sano, Yahiko, and myself to the left. We all got out of the way and realized that Kaoru hadn't moved, and that the car - a hearse - had stopped right in front of her, waiting for her to move. She was now wearing Tomoe's kimono and had a white gauzy veil over her head, and Kenshin's clothing was white now too. He got her out of the road, and we started walking back again, through a small town with whitewashed buildings. There was a commotion or a problem or something, so K&K must have run ahead to see what it was. As we approached, I ran up between Sano and Yahiko and said that I was worried about Kaoru, because she was acting so strange.
When we reached the buildings, Yahiko ran into the first bar on the right. Sano and I followed, but reached the door just as Yahiko left again (he had on green pants that were a little too short for him, a blue top, I think, and white tabi). I'd grabbed the edge of Sano's jacket by then and was dragging him with me, and it felt like it was made out of corduroy (sp?). We stuck our heads in but there didn't seem to be a commotion, I said that we should've asked Yahiko before barging in. As we left, the people in the bar (and sitting outside at tables) started singing a weird amalgamation of "We're off to See the Wizard" and the Tigger song. I grumbled about how they thought they knew English just 'cause they could sing Disney songs, and Sano started singing with them, I think to annoy me.
We then went to the next place down the street, and there were two signs up. I dropped the pop I was carrying and ran over to read the signs, and Sano followed. They said something about looking across the street (I think it meant the place we'd just left, though that was next door) and I think there were children being held hostage. As soon as I finished reading it, Sano punched the first sign to pieces, and I went on to read the next sign, which gave instructions as to what to do to save the children, though I don't think they were serious. Sano also punched this sign to pieces. There was a music stand, which Sano put a mostly-empty can of Pepsi on, saying something about how we'd done the step involving pop (yes, he called it pop!), and there was a little flimsy aluminum sword in a scabbard there, and we were supposed to get that out next. Sano cut the hilt off with scissors, and I was grabbing what was left of the sword out of the scabbard as he held it, thinking my hands were going to get all cut up...
... And then my phone rang and woke me up. ^^;;
They were all speaking English, obviously, and speaking it just fine, but they sounded like their Jap. voice actors and not their dub ones.
::shrug::
I'm still tired, but I guess I should go get some dinner or something.
