ad_exiaThey are, as I type, cutting apart my mother's counters. XD Good fun~ She's been getting the entire house redone (eek, it needed it >>) and the new marble countertops are coming in today, so they have to get rid of the old ones first. Very exciting. ;D
Let's see... so
Thursday was my flight in, which was ON TIME for once, amazing! There was an ice storm that night, which I don't know that I've ever really experienced before, and I got some awesome post-storm pix the next day that I'll share next post when I get them off my camera. That made the world pretty slippery and slidey on Friday, though, so going was slow and Jen and Amy and I moved our present-exchanging plans to Sunday.
Alas, somewhere in here I missed the deadline to submit for one of the contests I wanted to enter. I guess I should've known better than to think I'd have time for anything when I got home. I swear, I have moved more heavy objects for my mom since I've gotten home than done just about anything else. I think I should get paid for this or something. XD One of these days I will wise up and realize that whenever I come home, it involves moving furniture. Ah well, I'll work off all those cookies I'm eating, right? :D;
Saturday I went up to Stacie's for her Annual Christmas Party, otherwise known this year as the Infinite Cookie Buffet. It was very yummy indeed. :D And then yesterday we got breakfast at this really good pancake house near her, and then went shopping and I got a couple new clothes ($6 apiece at Old Navy = win!) and another present for my mom and an awesome hat that I was debating about so Stacie was wonderful and bought it for me. ^^;
We'd been planning to go to the zoo for their Holiday Magic event, which I love, but seeing as it was 2 degrees Fahrenheit outside we ended up opting out of that. I am a bit sad still, but I think the zoo opens again on the 26th so we might try to go then before I leave town. So instead Jen and Amy and I got together and exchanged gifts and went to Borders for coffee (because we left at 9:30 and Starbucks closed at 10 but the bookstore was open 'till midnight, whee!).
And then, this morning, I had the weirdest dream. My dreams usually don't make a lot of sense, or aren't very continuous, but this one kind of was.
I was somehow working in Gene Hunt's department, and Ray and Chris and Annie were all there. And then Sam showed up, but he was new to the case we were working on (something about some woman's boyfriend having been murdered in her basement, but we suspected his friends of doing it and not her). He wanted to go investigate, and was going to go alone, but I thought he wasn't really properly prepared so I yelled at Ray to go with him.
Then the next morning, I came into work early and went into this staff lounge we had; Annie was there, doing jumping jacks (IDK XD) and another blonde woman, who might have been some amalgamation between American!Life on Mars Annie and Cameron Diaz. I was tired for some reason, so I laid down to take a nap; I was kind of half-asleep and Sam wandered in, and gave me his coat as a blanket (<3) and started arguing with Annie and blonde girl. I think I woke up at some point (in the dream), and Sam was going through my things, and found some papers I'd printed out on grammar because I was supposedly proofreading something for someone... I'd printed the papers out in present day, so I explained to him that I was from 2008, and Annie thought I was nuts but Sam was really excited. And then I picked up some filing folders and they were actually a bomb (set by the friends of the guy who'd been murdered) and shortly thereafter I think I woke up for real. :D;;
Also, for the record, the Armadillo is NOT the only animal to suffer from leprosy. You know, just in case you were wondering.
And that is all for now, I think. :D Not that I expect anyone to read this mammoth entry anyway; it's mostly for posterity. Also, I haven't been around much to answer a lot of email or comment or anything, and I might be kind of scarce until I get back to Florida. But I'll try to keep up!
