ad_exiaSomeone needs to tell me that when I say I'm poor, it means I can't buy more books! But they didn't have it at Borders, where I could've used my gift card, so I had to get it at Amazon! D: And then of course I had to buy enough books to get over the $25 free shipping limit!
Um. Anyway~ :D I got material for Peter Pan today. Not quite what I was envisioning, but I'm happy with the fabric nonetheless. I'll still need to get brown at some point for the belt and the shoes, and I have to remember to get a dagger (Center Stage, here I come!), but there's no rush on that. (I also poked around for Enterprise jumpsuit fabric, but I'm really going to have to bring a reference with to get the right shade of blue on that one...)
Actually... speaking of no rush, I figure I'll put this one out to you guys.
So I think I'm going to be INSANE and cosplay Ahsoka. Because she is just too fantastic to not cosplay. But, um, there's a problem. She's, uh. You know. Orange. >>; I've seen people do her, so I know it can be done. But I've only seen pictures, so, here's the question! How the heck do you paint yourself orange and get it to not come off? XD; Because I have to do white on top of the orange for the face, too. Whee. At least I don't have to worry about my legs. But that leaves everything else that I pretty much couldn't cheat on, unless I just made the top half of a bodysuit or something... Um. Ideas? No rush, since I probably won't do this until D*C next year, but. XD; Ahsoka~~~ <3
Of course, if I do Ahsoka and Padme, I realize I'll have two stomach-baring costumes that both require makeup, because I'm so doing the bloody scratches on my back if I do Padme. XD; Faaaaaail~ I need to start doing crunches, like, ten minutes ago!
That's... really all. Did some writing today, but it was for Nicholas Sayre, so nothing that's exactly marketable. XD But I've been revamping a couple of old class projects so I hope to get some contest submissions out soon, because I am definitely feeling poor. I think it's just becase the D*C hotel, Disney hotel, and Halloween Party tickets were on my last credit card statement all at once, but still. At least I could justify the phase pistol because I had extra money from, like, two Christmases ago that I found hiding in an envelope for a rainy day. So woo, PHASE PISTOL. Now I can protect myself from renegade Suliban! (Or at least I will be able to, when it comes in the mail. XD)
