It's the Drizzle of the future!
Sep. 25th, 2008 10:56 pmUm... so not really much to report, lately. Been pretty busy at work - I have a proposal due on the 30th that's not too bad (it's Gemini North so it's pretty cut-and-paste from Gemini South, but not completely) and thankfully my advisor is going to do the proposal due on the 4th, though I'll probably have to supply some information so I have to keep on top of things. Plus more pre-imaging from the South came in, so I have to get on the ball with the mask-making software and get that back to the telescope ASAP, which I have no idea how to use. Whee. XD At least I got to work from home on Tuesday, since I had a haircut scheduled for smack dab in the middle of the day and it was silly to go to work beforehand or after when I could proposal-write with Exia at home. So I got to sit with Sashi and do work, yay~ :D
Other than that, same old stuff. Went to Dan's for Heroes on Monday, which was pretty enjoyable. This season is shaping up to be pretty good, if the first two episodes were any indication. There are a couple things I'm a bit meh about, but overall I like it. Also been enjoying Enterprise - the episode yesterday was pretty priceless. XD I brought it over to Scott's to watch since we went in together on Chinese food for dinner and Tiffany came over towards the end and added her own opinion to what was going on. XD Basically something like this:
ARCHER: Whatever friction there's been between us, I'd like to try to minimize it.
T'POL: Friction is to be expected whenever people work in close quarters for extended periods of time.
ARCHER: I guess that's always been true. Especially when the people are of the opposite sex.
T'POL: Then it's good that you're my superior officer. That we're not in a position to allow ourselves to become attracted to one another, hypothetically. If we were, the friction that you speak of could be much more problematic.
Tiffany: Or it could be much more pleasurable!
I think I almost died laughing. XD Though seriously, Archer and T'Pol are totally not attracted to each other. That's pretty obvious. ANYWAY.
At least I got to see Diana for lunch today! Very enjoyable~ I hadn't seen her in about a week, so there was lots to talk about and fangirl over. And Jen~! She says you can be Wendy or Tigerlily or whoever you want. She's not set on a costume yet, so let me know? We can discuss~ :D
Aaand as for the rest of things, I've been working on some short stories for entries in contests - just rewriting old stuff at this point, but I am poor and need money and maybe I could win it. :D; We'll see. I want to write, but am somewhat dry of ideas at the moment, boo. I wonder if there's some way to find some prompts or something. That's not cheating, right? I just remember being much better at writing stuff for classes, which usually gave me something to go from. Though... yeah. Still with that good at beginnings, bad at endings problem. Ah well~
Anyhoo, a belated LJ birthday to
tylerdurdenmiko~ Though I talked to her yesterday so it's not like I missed it! And also to
srinoaheartlys, though apparently I'm early, so~! Happy early birthday! ^^; <3
... And Tyler just called me a lyre. I'm... not sure how to take that. XD (He's a dork.)
