It's getting light outside...
Jan. 28th, 2004 06:44 am... And you'd think I'd be asleep. Especially since I was ready to fall out of my chair and sleep on the floor, oh, almost four hours ago now. But no. I can't sleep. I tried. For a while, obviously.
Nope, didn't work.
Got really hungry, ate the last of the pizza/cheesy bread from when Adam was here earlier and we worked on cosplay stuff. Then I worked on MORE cosplay stuff, i.e. figuring out the seams for Claus' jumpsuit. I have to use the black - the seal brown just doesn't stand out enough, which makes me feel bad for having gotten it but it had seemed to work at the time. Oh well. Black it is. I think black is okay, seriously, the show is so hard to color match that they're probably black seams in the first place and I'm just blind. -_-;;
So yeah, had my meeting... um... yesterday now, with Andy (the "Surrogate Rick") and April. Actually got some STUFF to work on - this new object they found that looks like it's outgassing but farther away from the sun than should be for such behavior, so I worked for a bit RADPROFing in IRAF. Whee. I remember how to do that... Anyway, after that I went to Winmil with Adam and got LOTS of stuff (spent $40 on cosplay stuff, darnit Claus, you're an expensive boy, you know that? ~_^;;) but I found THE piping for the leg/arm bands. Yay. Also got the fabric for Yahiko's top and lots of happy velcro. Actually, the reason the stuff was so expensive was that I really only needed, at most, a yard of the black vinyl. But there wasn't that much left on the roll - 1.5 yards, about, so I either had to take it all or not get any. ><** So now I have a LOT of black vinyl. Ano... Skuld-chan, I know it's thicker than what you were using, but if you need any thick black vinyl, see me. I have lots.
Spent the rest of the night sewing with Adam, and am just about done with the hakama - they just need hemming and re-pressing. Whoo. Um... yeah... agonized (instead of sleeping) over the stupid harness for Claus. I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure if any of them will work. ::hopes fervently:: We shall see...
Right. So now I'm actually getting tired (but probably not tired enough to sleep, and Lisa and I wanted to go running this morning and it's NOT snowing), and I'm really thirsty, so I'm going to go do something about the latter complaint, at least. And find something productive to do. That's NOT sewing. ^^;; Maybe I'll work on that paper that's due by the end of the week... o.O;;

I've got tan vinyl, which is what I was thinking of using, but I'm open to other suggestions. I'm just not sure how to make the thing "puffy," as I've got it cut out and sized right but it looks rather flat... -_-;;
Ooh, I do like Prince of Tennis. A lot. ^^;; I have lots of random manga that I'd be willing to trade, or if you want cosplay stuffs, or something else!
Thanks for your offer of help! Maybe with a few people on this, I can actually make this harness. o.o

Date: 2004-01-31 11:56 am (UTC)So far, I've cut the main part out of vinyl. I'm mostly trying to get the 3D look going...
Argh. And I give up looking for his goggles. I'm just going to make the stupid things. o.o;;
