Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.
Here are the ones she picked!
Abhorsen: From the trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen) by Garth Nix, the Abhorsen is both a Charter mage and a necromancer, able to control the dead and work magic. Their job is to undo the wrongs brought about by normal (evil) necromancers who use Free Magic to bend to dead to their will. It's a position that is passed down a familial line, along with the sets of bells used to control the dead.
AGN: AGN are Active Galactic Nuclei, or biiig black holes in the centers of galaxies (other than our own, ours is inactive <3) that are doing something interesting, like eating matter and shining really brightly. I study them! :D What I do is look at pictures of galaxies taken months apart and see if the centers of the galaxies (where the AGN are) have changed in brightness, because that's one way to tell if it's an active galaxy or not. And yes. Some have superluminal jets. XD
Claus Valca: If Claus were real I would be married to him. :D; He's the main character in the anime Last Exile, in which he flies a nifty little ship called a vanship and is generally really, really nice. Dio nicknames him Immelman because he can pull an Immelman turnbecause he is just that awesome <3333.
Matthew: Matthew is the raven messenger of the Dream King, Morpheus, in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman series. He used to be human, but when he died he was turned into a raven and enlisted to work for Morpheus. He's got a bit of a mouth on him, and usually wishes he were in on the bigger picture. He was usually found hanging out with the Corinthian (see below). He's actually my favorite character in the series. (Yes, I am that dorky.)
Percy Jackson: Percy Jackson is the main character in the series (aptly) named Percy Jackson and the Olympians, of which the first book is called The Lightning Thief. Percy is the son of one of the Olympian Gods (Zeus, Hera, etc.) - but I won't tell you which because it gives away half the plot, you should go read the books, they're really good, and quite original. :DHe's also this post's icon! Hi Percy's butt! XD;; (Traded Percy for Arren on 11/2 :D;;;)
The Corinthian: The new head nightmare Dream fashioned (in The Sandman series) after he regained control of his realm after being imprisoned for a number of years. If I remember correctly, he had to track down the old head nightmare (who'd gone a bit amiss in Dream's absence) and take care of it before assuming his new role. He's kind of scary and kind of not all at the same time. (Think... uh. Nice but kind of raving and kill-happy? >>;) And I think he's the first real gay character I encountered. (Other than Clurican, who seems to... uh. Not care either way.) :D;
Valdemar: Valdemar is a country about which a lot of Mercedes Lackey's books are written. What is unique about Valdemar is that it is home to what are called Heralds - individuals gifted with things like empathy, firestarting, teleportation, mindspeaking, etc. (and in the past, magic). These Heralds are chosen by Companions, spirits which look like horses but are definitely not, and they act as agents of the king or queen, who must also be a Herald.
