Whoo. Somehow it feels like Sunday, and it's only Friday. o.O; No clue how that works.
Thanksgiving was really quite good - Michelle and David hosted a dinner for those of us who hadn't left town, so it was them, David's (very nice!) parents, me, Audra, Carlos, and Valerie all for dinner. There were yummy appetizers (stuffed mushrooms and salmon and cheese and crackers!), an awesome dinner with smoked turkey and walnut stuffing and something with beets and asparagus and potatoes and cranberry sauce, and homemade pumpkin and pecan pies PLUS homemade ice cream for dessert! And I had some very awesome apple juice since I wasn't much inclined to help them go through all their wine and stuffs. :D;;
Spent about an hour or so at the vet today, as well.
Turns out that yeah, it is the poor thing's teeth - I mean, she's seventeen, so her gums are a bit infected and it's ouch for her. ;_; They gave me liquid antibiotics and some painkillers for her, and did a regular checkup - everything else is fine, which is good to hear - but she has to go in next Friday for dental work, and might end up like poor Alexi or Rajah with not too many teeth left. But that's actually pretty common in older cats, I think, and then she'll get to subsist off canned food which I'm sure she won't mind so much. >>; But she actually meowed today (yay!) and ate her canned food so that's good. And I think she did drink some water, which is good because I can't imagine giving her fluids will be very easy if I have to. The vet didn't think she was dehydrated though, so that's good. Plus I have to feed her yogurt (she likes it, at least!) with the antibiotics; also bought her some baby food so I shall have a very pampered kitty for a while. I'm just glad they could get her an appointment a decent amount of time before I have to leave, because I would seriously consider bringing her home with me otherwise, which I'm not so sure she'd love. As it is, I may have to teach Valerie how to give her antibiotics. But I hope not, it's a bit tough if you're not used to scruffing cats and shoving things in their mouths. ^^;
But! She should be okay. That's the point. Which makes me a VERY happy girl. Believe me.
... She's sleeping on my router. XD;; Guess it's warm. <3
Uhm... Other than vet excitement, I came home and have been working on my paper/talk on RR Lyrae stars all afternoon. (For those of you that don't know and might actualy at least care to know what I'm talking about, they're stars that get brighter and dimmer and they're useful for measuring the distance to the groups of stars they're in, which is good in astronomy.) It's... going, though perhaps not as productively as it ought to, but I have a bunch of other stuff I want to get done too. I think I'm gonna work on that ZAMS project a bit too, and maybe start doing research on the MESSENGER mission, because OMG my talk for that is the 8th or something. o.o;; And I haven't had much luck, but at least the talk's only like ten minutes long. But there's a paper to go with that. ><; And I have to get my lab report done for the same day, and I haven't quite figured out how to reduce the data yet. But that I have to ask someone about. At least I can get the grading done for 3018. There was one problem that I couldn't do, but I mentioned it to the professor and he said I was right that you couldn't do exactly what the book wanted. So yay for that at least.
I wonder how many trees I've killed printing out papers. >>; Probably too many.
