Dec. 16th, 2003 09:56 amWell. Got the paper turned in, even though Dale wasnt' there at the time. I ran into April and we just shoved the papers under the door before she went off to talk to Rick and I went back to work. Got my Thesis Proposal signed and turned in, too, and also got the recs off to Jim. Though I still have to check out the University of Central Florida, now that both Rick and Jim have told me to check into it. Looks like I'll have to apply to their Physics dept. though - no Astronomy or Planetary Science, and all the planetary scientists are hiding out in Physics. Sheesh, isn't that the truth... -_-;;
Oh. Found Maria Zuber. Got totally blown off after waiting quite a while to see her, got told very flatly to change my tix or find my own way to Washington. Well, fine. $300 tickets home, hello. Gr. Stupid stupid stupid... but now I'm getting back here the 8th, so I can make the meeting I found out about LAST WEEK. Um... though this means I can't go to your party, Stacie, but I wouldn't have been able to anyway because the absolutely last day I could've returned (missing the meeting) would have been the 10th anyway. I'm sorry. I feel terrible all around for having to spend so much stupid money and for missing the party. ::sighs:: Yesterday wasn't really my day.
Though April's party was fun; I went over early and baked cookies (Stacie, I made them ALL BY MYSELF!). She didn't have brown sugar, so we added lots of regular sugar and some molasses and it worked! Really not too noticeable a difference. ^^; Ryan, Erica, and Dave also came, and we ate and DDR'd and talked and it was pretty fun. Parties at April's are cool, because it's a small place and therefore she can't have *massive* numbers of people over so you get to talk to everyone and stuff. And, being all MIT students, we're all complete nerds. Whee. In fact, we had a big long discussion about gyroscopes. Now I want one. I used to have one but I don't know where it went. Maybe I'll ask my dad for Christmas. ^^;
In other news, I started playing FFX again. Now, I wasn't very far. Since I'd watched the entire thing, I hadn't really been in the mood to play it, even if the subtitles were so bad that there was "Yebon" and "Simon of the Chubby People" and other such unholiness. So I played for about two hours the other day, and realized I need to play more. Good thing I waited until just about everything was done. Now they're about to leave Besaid (read: I *really* wasn't very far before ^^;;;).
Have letters to drop off with Rick, then I have to go fill out the Geosystems course evaluations. I think I'm just going to fax in my transcript requests and hope MIT mails them within my lifetime.
