ad_exiaUm! So, taking a break from River's skirtsofDOOM. :D;; (I swear, geez, how hard is it to make a skirt? Really not that hard, but I want it to fall right, so that makes it hard in the end. Ah well~) I spent nearly allll of yesterday working on it only to realize the fabric I had was no right, so we went to WalMart to get different stuff, and it's better but it FRAYS so I have to fray check alllll the hems and it's a little tedious. But I think it'll work in the end. ::crosses fingers!!:: In other amusing news, Valerie and I were watching Independence Day yesterday and JAYNE is in it. |D; He's Major Mitchell, the Air Force dude who takes them around Area 51 and gets to shoot the can off the spaceship~ We then proceeded to laugh at every little thing he said. Especially when he was being serious. Because he's Jayne. XD
So I got the PoT doujin I ordered from eBay today~ Andand! Aside from it being an awesome doujinshi (eee, they speak in English for, like, the first two pages and I am utterly, utterly amused), the seller also sent me stuff!! :D LIKE! The little Coca-Cola RYOMA FIGURE that I totally wanted but never ever thought I would have~ SO! I am a happy happy girl. :D There was also a Ryoma magnet, and a little note with Ryoma drawn on it, and I am so totally looking at this person's store next time I feel the need to spend money on doujinshi, because they are my hero~ ^__^
In non-fangirling news, we had the welcome breakfast for the new grad students this morning, and it went over very well~ ^_^ Everyone actually seems pretty happy with where they ended up, and they're all nice and social and there were bagels. :D Um, and I have some new objects to run photometry on, so that's exciting as well because I have actual work to do! Though I realized that our department colloquium thing is in about three weeks so I need to start working on my talk for that as well.
The rest of the afternoon not spent sewing has been spent cleaning, since I'm showing the end of Firefly tomorrow and people will be here so it should at least look presentable. :D; There's still a big blank spot on the living room wall, but I'm too lazy to put the posters that used to be there back up right now, plus I can't find my sticky square things that I use to put them up anyway. D: So my Gundam SEED poster is also still not up, and that must be fixed!
All right, I'm going to go hem the bottom of skirt two so all that'll be left are the waistbands! Hopefully all will turn out well this time~ ^^;;
