Anywway. I *am* alive; sent Jen off this afternoon, so now I am all by my lonesome again. Kinda sad. I mean, I like being alone, very much so, but I also miss Jennie and Jen and I like being with them. We always manage not to kill each other. ;)
Okay! So! Con report! Mostly just the highlights here, I'm sure I'll think of a billion other things to report as time goes by.
Friday started out early, we all got into costume and met up to wait in the LONG! line because even though we'd pre-registered, we still had to wait to get our passes and things. It was a long, wrappy line and waiting outside wasn't fun, even though I was cosplaying Anna that day and she wears that short little dress. ><;; It's still black! So Friday cosplays are as follows:
Me: Anna (Shaman King)
Jennie: Rikku (Dark Gunner, FFX-2)
Jen: Risa (D.N. Angel)
Skuld: Legato (Trigun)
Alex: Wakka (FFX)
Destra: Seishirou (X)
Got a few pix in line, and once we got into the happily air-conditioned hall the line went much faster, and we were busy staring at people and stuff because we were IN! Met David Overton while I was still waiting in line, and then we got our passes. Passes were cool, 'cause they had a bunch of different cards with different series on them, and you could pick which picture you wanted. I got Witch Hunter Robin, 'cause the show is cool. ^^ It was between that and Saiyuki, but I figured I didn't have any WHR stuff, really, and I have Saiyuki pix. Then we decided to eat (had to hike back outside to go to Burger King, but we were all hungry) before actually hitting the con. We pretty much just walked around; Destra wanted to go to a "Japanese Trip Tips" panel, so we walked her there, and stopped into the dealers' room, which was MASSIVE and had lots of cool things. I didn't end up buying anything (WHY are there never any Shaman King Plushies? I KNOW they exist!), but I got some nifty free Witch Hunter Robin stuff, like a big poster and some mini-posters too. Yeah for free stuff. We even managed to find the Berrys, Justin dressed as Wolfwood sans massive cross and Mike as Asuma-sensei. (I hope I spelled that right...) Jen and I changed into Hokuto (well, she got recognized more as Subaru, it was the white outfit that both of them wear at some point) and Little Subaru, meaning I had to wear spandex >< but oh well. We got lots of pictures when we went back to the con, which was happy. ^^ Stopped into artists' alley looking for Zel, but didn't find him. Almost got food with the Berrys, but ended up meeting up with Skuld-chan instead. Jen, Jennie, and I went back later dressed as street/raver peoples; Jen and I were ninjas (wigs and head protectors) and Jennie was "Raver Rikku." Didn't really go to the rave, mostly walked around some *more* and talked to fanpeoples. Did eventually meet up with Zel; he's an awesome guy, fun to talk to! And a good artist - he sent me a Tutu sketch of his and it's *really* nice. Yay! And *anyone* who's nicknamed after Zelgadis just has to be the coolest thing on Earth. I mean, I *am* the Zelgadis Fangirl Contingent, after all!
Saturday was Ninja Day, we met up for the photoshoot at 11, totally lots of fun and LOTS of ninjas. O_O So. many. ninjas. But it was a blast; everyone in our group totally fit their characters, like our LAZY Shikamaru (Justin) and our well-loved Ino and Sakura-chan. ^^ And Alex dyed his hair from bright orange (for Wakka) to black (for Zabuza) and *shaved* his eyebrows. Alex is hardcore. He's an awesome Zabuza, and Destra is the cutest Haku there ever was. ^^ In our group alone, we had:

Sasuke (Skuld-chan)
Sakura (Jen)
Kakashi-sensei (Sean)
Ino (Jennie)
Shikamaru (Justin)
Chouji (Ray)
Asuma-sensei (Mike)

And of course we met up with most of the other cast, like Orochimaru, the Sound ninjas, Gaara and his team, Rock Lee (since our Rock Lee was LAME and didn't make his costume and was Nabushin all weekened instead ::shakes fist::), Itatchi, and I'm sure there were more. We had multiples of most characters, and got some good shots of that, too. Plus some great shots of fighting, etc. because Alex had an AWESOME sword. And there was my sign, that got passed around quite a bit. Hee~
Then Jennie, Jen, and I walked around some more, once we all stopped getting accosted for pictures, since it was hard to disperse with so many ninjas! Ran into Itatchi and another Naruto and hung out with them for a while, also got interviewed in the dealers' room (except Shikamaru, who was too darned lazy...). They're supposed to tell us when the interview will appear in their magazine, so that's cool. ^^ Got a free Shonen Jump bag (yay!) and some YuYu Hakushou cards (I love handouts). Eto... More wandering, Iruka-sensei gave me RAMEN! Made me a very happy Naruto-kun. ^^ Found Subaru and Seishirou cosplayers, little did they know how unsafe that was in the presence of the almighty Skuld-chan, who spent something like fifteen minutes trying to convince them to do some yaoi for her. The chick that was with them, dressed as Sailor Moon, even joined in. Heh.
Later Jen, Jennie, and I went out to dinner with Lee! Yay! And he gave me DDR, which makes me like him very much. ^^ We even got a pic of him with us in costume, and we got him to wave a kunai. Heh.
Most people went to the rave that night, but I was too tired. Go me. ^^;; Sunday Jen and Jennie went on ahead of me 'cause Jen had a Wolf's Rain photoshoot (she was a darned good Cheza, if I may say so, even though her costume was still a little rough around the edges because she says it's so hard). I went as Kazuma, which like three people recognized ::cries::. There NEED to be more Scryed cosplayers. I even had a sign! "Anyone seen my Kimishima?" ::sighs:: Well, we got interviewed again, so that was cool, so I spread the Scryed love. I need the alter, dude. 'Cause the only other way I can think of to get recognition would be to cosplay Sherrice, and that skirt is too. damn. short. Jennie wore my Naruto costume and of course got a billion pix. Ah well. ^^;;
So that's the con highlights. Jen got proposed to *twice* by this cute Miroku chick, who then got beheaded by Zabuza's sword at one point. Heh. And I got some good pix - I found ALL the slayers (even Luna and Naga!), which obviously means I found a Zelgadis who *totally* made my day. AND I found a Fakia cosplayer, who I glomped, even if I was Kazuma. Heh. ^^;;
Next up is Shoujocon, at which I am going to be Kamui, Sora, and probably Naruto, unless I throw together Yoh, but I might just do that for Halloween because even though all I have to do is the necklace, shoes, and headphones, I am poor (not even lazy! Just poor!) so that may wait. Plus I'll probably have Jennie paper-mache the necklace for me. Might look cooler.
I so look nothing like Kamui. I need bat wings, or no one will recognize me unless Fuuma leads me around on a leash.
Eto... so the rest of the week was great; we went out for coffee on Tuesday and went cosplay shopping, got Robin's coat and it just needs to be taken in. Went to Dim Sum with Alex, Destra, Skuld, Mike, and the three of us, then got bubble tea, yum! Also hit Porter so Jen could buy me ramen (wai! My beloved Sakura-chan bought me RAMEN!), and other than that I think we mostly hung around. Oh! But Tuesday night after my office hour we used the bottom floor of Walker for a mini photoshoot with all our costumes, hee! Here's the link:

Much fun, and we even got Dan to take a lot of pix for us, thanks Dan! He's actually putting together a Yoh costume, so maybe I should be Anna for Halloween and he can be my Yoh. Mwaha. Dude, Anna just got COOL, too. Like, she's gonna kick ass. Hao ass. So there! And we love Horo Horo, who is NOT boroboro. XP He is *quite* functional, thankyouverymuch.
Took Jen to AniClub last night, but they were having a little trouble with the karaoke. 1-190 is an evil room, at least for AniClub. We watched the first ep of Figure 17, but then came home and hung out; I think I'm going to end up seeing the rest of Slayers on my own, since I'm not going to be there this week either. Ah well. Zelgadis allllll to myself. ^^
Yes... and I think I am going now. Maybe go call some people because I need to keep in touch!
