OMG see, THAT'S why I don't watch FMA every week. Because they frikkin' leave you HANGING and ahhhhhhhhh....

Yeah. So I'm all caught up on FMA now. ;_; or something.

Allll righty, somewhat abbreviated con report:

Well, first off, got to FL Thursday and cleaned up while Jen was at class. Then she worked on Dio and I helped her with some other cosplay stuffs, and we fell asleep. Got up around 8 or 8:30 on Friday and left; traffic was okay most of the way until we got near Orlando, I think, then it really slowed down. Got to the con in the afternoon and checked into the hotel, changed into Ed and Winry and picked Adam up at the con to get some food before actually hitting the con proper. Not that there *was* much of a con proper at that point - it was really slow, we just wandered and wandered and wandered until Carly arrived, and then we turned her into Lust and took some pix before heading back to the hotel early and taking... more pix. ^^;

Saturday Shinji, Kim(mu), and Jacob arrived. I guess we'd thought they were getting a separate room and they'd thought they weren't; we ended up sharing and it wasn't bad at all, actually. Now Jen owes me $20. ^^; ::shrug:: Right, so Jacob was Red Mage, Kimmu was Komiyou Sanzo (I spelled that right... right?), Jacob was Riku (KH), Adam was Kenshin, Carly was Byakko, I was Claus, and Jen was Dio. Claus and Dio got recognized as soon as we got to the con - WAI! We got our pix taken by the cosplaylab guy and headed to the dealers' room to check out STUFF. There was a guy who came up to me and knew who I was and said it looked really nice, and he was really impressed and that made me happy. ^_^ Then we all sat around and drank Ramune and ate Pocky and just kinda hung out and got more pix taken, whee. Before eating lunch we went back and changed - Jacob and Shinji into cat/raver boys, Carly into "Kaidoh", Jen into Ed (again, hee), and me into Ryoma. Then we went to lunch and Bucca di Beppos, and it was a riot. Our waitress was really awesome, and it was really a lot of fun. And people really liked the tiramisu (sp? o.O) 'cause it was totally rum (Stacie, it's NOT just ours that did that!!) so I just dealt with that. ^^; The bread pudding was really good.

Then we hit the con again, mostly to sit outside and play Scrabble and watch all the otaku run around and be silly. Got some Ryoma vs. Ed/Ed vs. Ryoma shots that will probably be amusing. There were shirt ninjas running around kidnapping or ass-kicking for a dollar, kind of randomly amusing... Drank grape pop (hee) and went to see the cosplay competition. It was amusing, if not small and amateurish, so I enjoyed it. Yeah, we totally could've owned it, but Jen wasn't so hot on entering because there weren't any real prizes, and I wasn't so dead set on entering that I really cared. Sure, it woulda been nice, but I'm not mad we didn't or anything. After that was the rave, and I don't like dancing, which appeared to dismay people. I really am content to sit and watch, but apparently people don't like this. -_- What do they know. Then we went back (tired!) and got some sleep for Sunday.

Sunday was DNAngel day, with Jen as Riku, Carly as Dark, and myself as Daisuke. The red gel kinda worked but not really, and it was humid-ish so my hair wasn't as straight as I'd have liked, but oh well, I'll live to be a better Daisuke some other day. Carrying around Wizu was fun. Kimmu was Flower Girl (aka Aeris) from Tactics, and she gave her little head scarf to her Sanzo plushie and it was teh cute. We played around outside taking pix and whatnot, went dealers' room-shopping again, and grabbed lunch at Wendy's, but there wasn't anything to do (again) so we eventually headed home.

So yeah, not a well-organized con, and there really wasn't anything to do, but it was fun because I got to hang out with people so I really did have a good time. I knew it'd be small, so it was okay. But I am *definitely* looking forward to Anime Boston, that's going to ROCK. O.O Oh God but I have a thesis presentation the week after that, ahhhhhhhhh. ::dies::

Oh, con loot:

KusonezumiYuki plushie! XD
Posters: DNAngel (Dark & Daisuke), Prince of Tennis (Ryoma, Kaidoh, Momo-chan), and a present for Leah that PROVES the theory of inverse chibitude like nothing else

And so today I slept in while Jen went to class, and we modded her PS2 (with the top-cover-dealie) and played ParaPara. It's fun, though I feel less silly playing DDR somehow. o.O But it *is* fun. And I caught up on FMA, and the new one's not out yet, and yeah, that's why I get so far behind, ack....

At least there's a new Chrno out that we'll watch sometime soon! ^_^

YAY!

So glad that you're having an awesome time! Yay for fun times with friends! And your pics are amazing, you guys all look great. And I guess that just teaches us that we should never order the tiramisu when it's you and me at Buca's ... Have a wonderful rest of the week!

It's something that Leah came up with. Basically, the theory of inverse chibitude states that the pissier and badass-ier a character is (say, for example... Alex from Last Exile or Sanzo from Saiyuki), the cuter they are in chibi form. ^^;

Ack! You found a Wizu plushie? Lucky. Those are darned hard to get a hold of. How did you manage to? I've been trying for some time....

animate-usa.com, actually. I don't know if they're still on sale, but that's where I got it! Good luck! ^_^

:P Yeah, me again - I asked about the Wizu plush.
Heh, just my luck, they're not on there anymore. Oh, well. Gotta just keep trying.
Thank you very much for replying. ^_^ I really hadn't checked the dates on any of these posts, so I hadn't been expecting an answer.

Thanks again! ~Fenris

No problem! I get nifty emails whenever someone leaves a comment, so it doesn't matter when the post was from. ^_^ I'm just sorry they're out of them for you. ;_; You might want to try eBay, maybe?

Ahh....Sorry I took so long to reply. I was having a little ultimatum. I didn't know whether it was better to thank you again, and ask another question, or not thank you, so you wouldn't feel obliged to reply, and get a notification email. ^_^ Eventually, I decided I'd feel guilty if I didn't thank you again. I've been checking eBay. I think the Wizu plushies are so hard to get a hold of that anyone who does won't give theirs up! Plus, DNAngel is new enough that there's not a lot of stuff that people want to get rid of. I'll just have to keep looking. Thanks again! If you ever happen to come across a place to get one of those plushies, you could just mention it here. I'll probably come back and check every so often.
Oh, one last thing - I've heard Wizu plushies are expensive. How much did you have to fork over for yours? ^^ Again, thanks! ~Fenris
