Aaaaand here is the long-awaited (I'm sure XD) part 2 of my DC pix, featuring the Smithsonian (predominantly Air & Space, since I reeeeeally wanted to go there).

NASM:

PJO fans will know why I took this XD:

Apparently this is what Germans used once they realized that flying too high meant you couldn't breathe. :D;; It held liquid oxygen and was hand-cranked by the pilot. o.O;

Flying contraption!

I forget which Apollo this was... 15, maybe? D:

The working version of an Apollo capsule door. >>;

Cray Supercomputer!

Oh Hubble, how I love you! NEVER STOP WORKING OMG. (This is a scale model. XD)

Speaking of always working... WFPC2!

If you can ignore my reflection, those litte grey spots are actually micrometeorite impact craters.

Apollo-Soyuz~ :D

The Russians designed a suit for walking on the moon, even though they never got there. I laughed so hard. I'm not sure that was a really great idea, guys...

Carly, I took this in the gift shop for you. XD (Alas, I never did make it out to the annex where they have Jetfire. I was sad.)

OMG, you know what else was in the gift shop? THE ENTERPRISE. No, like, the Enterprise. This is the scale model they used on the show. I squeed so hard.

We also stopped by Natural History. Requisite dinosaur pictures:

Next up, the actual AAS (I swear I did attend!) and maybe the Half-Marathon, rolled into one? Plus I have a weekend update that should amuse~
