Less talking, more mincing!
Gah, do I have a tag yet whining about how I need more icon slots? XD;
First off, I figured I'd give my quick review of The Princess & The Frog:
Fabulous is pretty much the word that comes to mind? They did good - quite good, really, and things were very different (better!) than the impressions I'd gotten from the millions of trailers and commercials. For one, Naveen was much less of a jerk than they made him out to be in the commercials. XD And Lottie was a whole lot cooler~ (Though perhaps needed to eat less sugar, ahahaha?)
Also, I knew I would anyway, but I really liked Tiana. Okay, so she might have taken things to extremes, but I'm a big believer in the fact that your dreams can come true if you're willing to work for them. So I really liked her for that, and she was easy for me to identify with, at least in some respects. Plus she was just awesome, anyway~ And has the coolest dress at the end.I'm so making that.
The music was good, but not... great, maybe? There were certainly enough songs (maybe one too many? I dunno, I don't really have a problem with songs~) but there were only one or two that were actually memorable enough for me to go home humming them, and one was that Ne-Yo song at the end that I've heard all over Disney Channel anyway. So yeah... I liked the music, I have the soundtrack, I listen to it, no problem. But it wasn't quite what I wanted, maybe? Hrm.
And now for the BIG SPOILER, because while it was horrible it was actually kind of funny watching it with astronomers. Because it was me and Nathan and Scott, right? So when the firefly dies and becomes a star, I hear whispering next to me along the lines of, "Hey, that's not astronomically correct..." "Maybe it was a supernova?" "That's awfully bright..." "Hm, better watch out, all our Chlorine is gonna turn into Argon now," and such. In fact, I think we spent five minutes after the movie talking about the supernova event that must've coincided with his death. Oh, astronomers. We are fail.
Anyway, yes. It was great. I will be seeing it at least one more time, possibly two while it's still in the theater. I really enjoyed it quite a lot, and I'm glad it's doing well thus far~ :D
And now I'll end with a meme, stolen from
valeriebean!
Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2009 (not including memes of course). Post the first line/sentence of it in your journal, and that's your "Year in Review".
January: Woo, Happy New Year (+2h)!
February: Okay, SO. Uh... trying to go in order here, though all I really remember about Friday was that I spent the entirety of Clone wars thinking that Senator Chuchi was gorgeous and wondering if I could cosplay her and have anyone know who I was. XD;;;
March: Whew! So Megacon was lots of fun, and pretty chill.
April: Woo, fic went up on the website: Abby Hill Literary Challenge, 1st Quarter.
May: In Nashville~ About to go to bed to get up early again and DRIIIIIIVE~
June:

July: You know, I think the more mortal peril Percy is in, the funnier he is. XD
August: Apparently, I am leaving the country in four days. I am so not prepared for this. XD
September: You know... I haven't gone to bed yet, and neither have my upstairs neighbors.
October: I am currently in the process of submitting an abstract for a dissertation talk at the AAS in January.
November: Welcome to day 3 of November and the end of DST!
December: Woo! I have offered my plushie-making services up for this cause this winter:

Aw man, I was gonna get to that VB kinkmeme. Hm. Well, I might still be able to get started... There is no plot involved in this one, really. ::fail:: Except I have another idea for the PJO one, noooooo!

EDIT: Oh, and also, I found out today they're closing the JoAnn's that I usually go to. WHAT? BUT I HAVE COSTUMES TO MAKE. NOT COOL. DDDD: I hope the other one is staying open, I do not want to have to drive to Ocala every time I need fabric. D
