Jun. 23rd, 2006 12:19 amSo! Uh, guess it's time for an update~ ^^; It's actually been a pretty busy week, since I keep ending up doing things at night with Valerie~ So, um, I'll try to do a rundown without completely and utterly boring everyone to death, because that would certainly be bad! D:
So! Basically, I worked on my poster and finished it up on Monday, and Vicki took them to get printed on Tuesday-ish I think, so I should be seeing the final product soon! However, since that was done, I haven't had too much to do this week in terms of research, since BACKWCS is still being a bitch and Vicki's been so tied up with GTC meetings that we haven't talked much. (Translation: the computer program I need to work doesn't, but it's not my fault 'cause I didn't write it. And my advisor is helping with the astronomy conference I'm going to next week, so she's very busy. ^^;) So I've been reading papers all week on obscured AGN (galaxies whose centers are blocked by lots of dust!) in an attempt to learn more about the field~ Though reading papers gets awfully boring after a while. D:
Either Monday or Tuesday, I think, I went over to Valerie's for tacos; we watched the season finale of Bones, which she'd taped, and it's pretty decent. It was kind of a big emotional episode, but I think I'd like it a lot when she's being slightly more rational. ^^; And the fact that Angel is in it, in a suit and tie with a nice snazzy haircut, makes me laugh~ After that, we realized it was only 9 so we watched I, Robot because we'd been meaning to for quite a while. It was pretty good, really, considering I hadn't been expecting anything at all from it. Really quite enjoyable, with some awesome lines as well. XD; And then tonight, Valerie and I went to Borders so I could get PoT 14 and Petco so she could get more guppies (she's down to one), and she convinced me to get another fish. :D;; So, meet Kamio~ We deposited her guppies at her place and headed back here, where she helped me get the desk out of my car and stuck around to watch Willy Wonka, because I hadn't seen the remake yet. I must say, it was much better than the original, in my opinion. Actually kinda cute. And at least right now the smell of drywall overpowers any wet carpety smell there would be in my living room, so it's not so bad.
Right! So they've replaced two panels in the ceilingwhich took them long enough, I had to go in and complain about the mold running rampant before anyone did anything, grr, but have yet to finish mudding or painting them - OR the rest of the ceiling in the living room, hall, and second bedroom, even though they were supposed to be done today. :x They can't clean the carpet until after next week (because I won't be here and that's bad to do if there's no place to put my cat) but I still think it should be replaced... Ah, well, that's a battle for another day. The kitchen is slated to be cleaned up in "mid-July" and I am going to bug them every week until they give me a firm date. In writing. >>; And tomorrow I'm giving them a list of replacement stuff I need, and checking to see if they're doing my ceiling on Saturday, because I don't want to leave the cat locked up in my room all day if I don't have to, since Valerie, Diana, and I are going down to Tampa to see Serenity. Which should be fun!
Oh, and just beause it's funny: this has so been my department this week. :D;;Will never understand soccer, but I'm weird like that. ^^;
Aaaand, now that I've bored everyone, I shall go. :D;; Because I have to put together said list of damaged goods, and also resize all the wet!apartment photos to send to my dad. I will post memes and stuff soon, I haven't forgotten!
<3s for all~ Happy Day-After-Summer-Solstice!
