Mar. 28th, 2004 01:56 pmDon't want to work on thesis, but really should. Ah well, I will in a bit. Just talked to Skuld for a while; she thought she was supposed to work so she came in and ended up just hanging out for a bit before heading off to Pearl for stuff for Sol. And I even got up at a decent hour today! I'd set my alarm for 10:45 (meaning I'd get up around 11:15) because I forgot that on Sunday the library opens at 1 and not 12. But I ended up being not too tired and got up at 11:30. Go me.
Leah's coming over later to sew stuff on Misao, so Steph's going to drop off the sewing machine between 6 and 7. She made me the awesomest Genma pincushion ever! It's even got little yarn arms! XD Picture will probably ensue later.
Right, so the rest of my Florida trip...
Friday we went up to Gainesville - the drive both there and back was very enjoyable, mostly because we can talk for hours without really running out of stuff to talk about. ^^; So anyway, the Gainesville campus is really nice, and the Astronomy department is really cozy and family-like and they have neat labs and WOMEN in their department and all of them were really nice and willing to talk and help. I think Jen was a little tired/bored, but I don't think it was too bad; she came with us to get lunch and then hung out in one of the grad student offices and took a nap because they had a futon. Anyway, I do really like that department, and the visit was pretty fun. On the drive back, we decided we wanted sushi, so we got off near Tampa and spotted this sushi place in a strip mall and OMG it was the best sushi and tea EVER. It was *so* good. Then we got ice cream on the way back, and checked out a big bookstore in downtown Sarasota and met another anime fan and talked for a bit. ^^ And then we came home and played ParaPara... 52 songs in a row! Whee. Yes, I do like that game now. A lot. It rocks! XD (And Jen is happy she has another convert.)
Saturday was mostly just hanging out, packing, and we went out for lunch before heading back to the airport. There was an attempted stop at AnimeNation, but that didn't actually end up happening. Oh well, no huge loss there, it's not like I hadn't just bought stuff at a con. ^^; (BTW, the pix are up now at risingsun.net and I actually really like some of the Ed vs. Ryoma pix. ^^ I think I like being Ryoma almost as much as Jen likes being Ed, and since the heights are perfect, and somehow we end up looking a LOT like the characters, it just rocks. XD)
Flight back was good, although I did end up taking a taxi because I was just too hungry by 10:15 to summon up the energy to take the T with all my crap. But it's all unpacked and happy now, and I have just enough time to get back into the swing of things before school starts again tomorrow. >>
Okay, now to actually think about working on that thesis thing...
Though maybe I'll make a new Ryoma icon. Or Naruto icon... nooo... must work...

2:10pm: Oh! I forgot! I did have this really cool dream this morning and CLAUS was in it and it was happy. He and Lavie and Alvis were in their vanship and going off to do something, and I couldn't go but I had to fill Lavie's canteen for her or something, and I definitely remember patting Claus on the head and saying he was a good boy. ^^; And he kept staring at me... o.O;;;
