It's SNOWING?!
Mar. 8th, 2004 12:03 pmYou know, I thought we were through with this nonsense. But no, I woke up this morning and it was snowing. -_- I hate the cold. Have I ever mentioned that before?
Weekend was okay, but my back has been killing me. Not lower back but upper back, like I've been hunched over reading too much or something. It hurts a lot, and the heating pad appears to be helping but not very much. It makes my arms hurt, but not my head (so far, at least). >< Uhh... spent Saturday working on my thesis, although I don't really feel like I got much done. Sunday I slept a lot (oops) and only got in a little work before game. At least the policy pset got done on Fridy so I didn't have to worry about that.
I hate Mondays, I have stuff from 10am-5pm. Sucks. No lab today but that just means that April and I are taking that time to work on the Geosystems lab before class at 3. And wow, I'm complaining a lot. I should stop.
In non-complaining news, I've decided to slowly get the rest of the Sandman books. They're $13 apiece on barnesandnoble.com (which I like because of the free next-day shipping); I think if I do this once every two weeks or so I can deal with it. 'Course, there's a lot of new stuff out I need to get - the new Thessaly and X-men are probably out by now, and vol. 5 of Jing comes out tomorrow so that means I need to make a Comicopia stop sometime soon. And Leah just lent me Eerie Queerie, which is a really stupid title but a really awesome manga. If I'm not careful I might end up buying it myself.
Also finished Mirage of Blaze this weekend. It was good, though I think I waited too long between watching the third and fourth volumes so I forgot who everyone was and will probably need to watch them again to remember. ^^;; That's really my major complaint with the show - there are too many people and too many factions and I can't remember who was doing what or how they're all related. That and the fact that Ougi-kun's personality seemed to disappear randomly... Well, AND the fact that there needs to be more, because they ended it on such a not-final note that there has to be more or it'll just suck. Not that anime has ever done that before... Too bad I can't read the novels. I have a feeling that Juuni Kokki will be like that too, and darn if that hasn't gotten good by now. The *actual* appearance of that "cheeky little taiho" didn't hurt, mind, but Youko finally got some sense knocked into her somewhere along the line (I *think*) so she's gotten somewhat more likeable.
And as long as I'm on an anime tangent (what a surprise), Kino no Tabi is awesome. I need to be Kino. She parades around as a boy and she has guns and knives (not to mention a talking motorcycle) and she kicks ass. I want to be Kino. Pro: yellow coat is re-usable as everyone's favorite bandit king. Who apparently has more manga - there's another Jing manga series that picks up where the first one leaves off, and will start in Nov. when they're done with the seven volumes of the original Jing. Damn, bandit king stealing my money... o.O
Okay, off to do work or something of the like. Yay. -_-
