I just wanted to know what happens next.

So I was going to set about writing my own version of "Nicholas Sayre and the Creature in the Case," because when I read the original notes in the author's note thing I saw a totally different story in my head from what ended up actually happening, and it was vivid enough that I'd actually kind of like to write it down. And so I started today and, uh. Damn. I think it might turn out to be novella-length, which is kind of funny, really, considering the original. I guess Nick just has a lot of his own story to tell, or something. Though really, I like him a lot. He's a scientist who's so utterly confused by everything that happened, but he can't ignore it because it's a part of him now. And I think he's kind of scared, but kind of intrigued, and I need to get him over that Wall.

I'd really love to include Lirael, actually, because she and Nick are adorable, even if they don't know it yet~ But I don't know if I can write her, so we'll see. He might not get to her 'till the end, like in the actual story, but we'll see.

And in the meantime I'm having fun running around looking all sorts of things up. XD

Anyway, there's that. ^^; Ahaha, it figures that I have all this original fiction to write but I really, really want to write this. Ah well. So it goes~



In other news, asdka;sdk it is HARD to try to get FIVE people together for a two-hour block for my orals. x_x; It's really up in the air now, so while I think it may still have to be the last week of November, it could potentially be the second week of December instead. GAH. Hopefully scheduling will not drive me crazy for too much longer. ^^; I suppose it shouldn't surprise me. Though I got an amusing email from Fred when I proposed having it at 8 in the morning. Something like, "I might be really really really really really really cranky at 8am, but I will try really really really really really really hard not to take it out on you, so maybe it will balance out..." Ahaha, I love you Fred. XD I told him I'd be really really really really really really tired, so I wouldn't notice anyway. Eheh. :D;

And I might have to write a Spitzer proposal due the 16th next week anyway. If that's the case, there is NO freaking WAY I'm giving my orals the last week of Nov. So. We'll see. ::boots scheduling out the window!::

Okay, off for a bit more Nick before I have to get to bed. Astronomy picnic tomorrow!
