Aaand in the spirit of the rest of my flist...
... have a Ninja Turtles icon. :D Because Scott and I went to go see it tonight and ahahaha. Everyone who told you it was awesome? WAS RIGHT. <3333
Ahaha~ So. XD Maaaan, I love Turtles. :D That movie almost made me like Leo, too~ Though it needed more Donatello (but really. I mean. Donatello the IT technician. OMG. Lovely~) but hey, that's the way of things. Also, the voice acting! Was awesome, I had no idea people like Patrick Stewart and Sarah Michelle Gellar were in it. That was sweet~ And Casey! :D Plus, wow, April. Welcome tothe world of fashion being badass. But. Um. Your tiny waist scares me. >>;
BUT. The animation was spectacular. Simply beautiful. Wow. It was awesome to watch, just for that. And then some~
Okay. So. Um. I'm really sorry I've been utterly nonexistent. I had to finish all my sewing for Anime Boston, but NOW I'M DONE YAY. :D So. Uh. Have some pictures!
Soi Fong's Coat!
Closeup of the number and the bottom.
Two shots of my awesome Tenma wig~ (I want that hair. XD; Stupid little antennae and all~)
Aaaand Mamimi, front and back, for Jennie~ (My Takkun is kind of ghetto because I don't have the time to get the details right, and it bugs me, but there's nothing I can do for this con. I'll fix him for next time, really~)
Soooo that's what I've been working on for the past... um, I don't know how many days. Though, like I said, took a break today to watch TMNT (and stop by Daisy's birthday dinner, which was fun!). Yesterday I took some time out to watch the Escaflowne movie with Diana, which was, in true watching-anime-with-Diana fashion, awesome~ ("Van totally rocks that leopard-print skirt. I mean, he's wearing a skirt, with spots, and shorts underneath it, and he still rocks it.") Though we did miss our calm-and-gentle, hates-to-fight Van from the TV series. It made things a bit less bloody. :D; (On a side note, she decided all Folken and Sora needed was a couch. Maybe if they'd furnished their floating castle, they could've been happy and well-adjusted. XD)
I... think that's it for major updates? Diana and I (after I don't know how many hours of debating, it was kind of stupidly awesome) went down to try out for the Metrocon Fantasy Masquerade on Sunday, but didn't make it in, sadly. D: It's all right, though... I can't say I was crazy about anyone on the cast list, though it still would've been a lot of fun to do! It was nice to see a lot of Chessmatch/Metro people again, though~ It sounds like stuff for them is going well, so that's awesome. :D Also! Got my PoT DVDs in the mail! At least now I can watch it with subtitles~ :D Even though it has the US opening no matter which language you're in. The original opening and ending are special features on the last disc. >>; But ah well. The insert had MomoRyo. How can life get much better than that?
But I really think that's about it. Again, I lose at being around... I might try to hop online tomorrow for a bit if I can get my packing and cleaning done, but since I'm leaving Thursday morning I shouldn't stay up too late. And then it's off to Boston for the weekend! I'll, um, have sporadic email, but I really truly hope to start being actually around starting next week. I miss you guys! I hope you're all doing well, and <3s!

EDIT: And! I got my second referee review for my paper. Just a few small things they want to fix with the plots, and it'll actually be in press! Woo~
Now off to read for a few minutes before I collapse into bed!

What kind of fabric did you make it out of, just white cotton? Is it one layer, or lined? What'd you do for the black designs, fabric paint?
Excuse my annoying questions. XD; But it looks like you knew what you were doing. If mine ends up looking half as good as yours, I'll be happy.

I just used white cotton, yeah~ I think I got some nicer white cotton (it was on sale) but it was just cotton nonetheless. I didn't line it (though I could have, I guess), and yep, I used paint for the designs. For the diamond in the middle of the back I marked it off with masking tape and used a paint marker, and for the stuff along the bottom I made some stencils out of construction paper and just used regular acrylic paint. And for the kanji, I made a stencil by printing out a picture of it on my computer and cutting it out, tracing around it, and then going over that with the paint marker. :D;
Hey, it's no problem! <3 I kind of just made it up as I went along, but I was really relieved it turned out okay. XD; (Just ask Jen, I lose at painting. :D;;;) But! Good luck with yours~!
